Woman Planned To Burn Down Part of The Milford Oval

Colleen M. Carr of Milford planned to burn a building to collect insurance money.

The owner of a building on Union Square was arrested by Milford police today for allegedly planning to burn it all down for profit.

Milford detectives arrested Colleen M. Carr, 49, of 139 Union Square, Milford, and charged her with conspiracy to commit arson (class A felony), and witness tampering (class B felony).

The arrest came after a two-day investigation of Carr's plans to burn down her building on 139 Union Square. This building contains Tasty Tobacco Shop, P.C. Carr Realty, and two occupied apartments.

Carr was held on $75,000 cash bail, and was transported to Valley Street Jail. She is scheduled to be arraigned in the Milford District Court on January 18, 2013, at 11 a.m.
