MANCHESTER, NH – On Tuesday, March 18, the NH Coalition to End Homelessness (NHCEH) will host a training titled “Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.” Participants of the training will learn a therapeutic approach to working with clients that addresses the emotions, behaviors and thoughts of their clients through a number of goal-oriented, system-focused techniques. Dr. Loretta Brady of BDS Insight is providing the training.
“It’s important that service providers have a range of tools to support clients with serious and persistent mental illnesses,” said Cathy Kuhn, Ph.D., Director of the NHCEH. “This training will provide participants with specific techniques that they can use to help clients realize long term wellness.”
This training is ideal for staff who work in the fields of mental healthcare, community and family services, public healthcare, social work, housing services, homeless services, veteran services, clinical services, case management services, general practice therapy, addiction therapy, intake and outreach work, and child services.
The training will be held on Tuesday, March 18 at 161 S. Beech Street, Manchester, NH. It runs from 12:00 – 3:00 and costs $50. Three continuing education credits for the National Association of Social Workers and Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselors have been applied for and are pending approval. Registration is required and can be done by visiting www.nhceh.org/cbt, via email at info@nhceh.org, or calling 603-641-9441 extension 259.
