The Eagles Have Landed in NH

The majestic birds are being spotted more and more on the seacoast and across the state.

New Hampshire's bald eagle population is on the rise, and we're seeing clear evidence of it on the seacoast especially.

In the past week alone, Patch readers have submitted two photos of bald eagles in Hampton and one in Exeter.

Last Thursday, Exeter Patch reader Jen M posted a photo of a bald eagle she spotted in a tree overlooking the Squamscott River.

Amy Kane spotted one in the former Dodge Marsh in Hampton on Friday. That same day, Peter Tilton Jr. submitted a photo captured by his game camera three weeks ago of an almost mature bald eagle outside his house in Hampton.

According to the Union Leader, a record 67 bald eagles were logged in the recent midwinter count conducted by the New Hampshire Fish and Game Department.
