Market Basket Workers Say Hours Being Cut Due to 4% Discount

Some employees, however, say they support the promotion.

Some Market Basket workers are claiming their hours are being cut to finance a 4 percent discount being offered in local stores, according to the Union Leader.

Part-time employees have complained on several social media sites that they have seen their hours cut back, and they say it's a direct result of the discount. Other employees, however, say they support the promotion.

The discount, which runs through Dec. 27, covers everything but beer, wine, cigarettes, milk, local trash bags, lottery tickets, stamps or gift cards. Market Basket has 28 New Hampshire stores.
