A new University of New Hampshire/WMUR poll shows that U.S. Sen. Jeanne Shaheen remains popular with voters and is easily outdistancing her potential Republican challengers in the 2014 election.

The results of the latest Granite State Poll, released this week, show that 57 percent of New Hampshire adults have a favorable opinion of Shaheen (D-NH).

So far, the only Republican to announce a formal challenge to Shaheen is former State Sen. Jim Rubens. Former U.S. Rep. Charlie Bass is also said to be considering a run in 2014.

Though only 6 percent of likely voters say they have made up their mind, if the election were held today, 51 percent of likely voters said they would choose Shaheen, with only 34 percent going with Bass. In a Shaheen-Rubens matchup, 53 percent said they would vote for Shaheen and 28 percent for Rubens.

The UNH survey also shows that U.S. Sen. Kelly Ayotte's popularity remains steady. Ayotte, who is not up for re-election in 2014, has a 41 percent favorability rating.

Does anyone even know what she does? What a useless poll.
