The cost to enroll in the health care exchanges opening Oct. 1 depend on your age, family size, income and other variables. One of those variables is where you live.

The average cost of basic coverage nationally is $249 a month, not including tax credits.

According to this Huffington Post map, the average weighted premium cost for the lowest bronze tier in New Hampshire is in the $250 to $299 range, the tier just above the national average. That's lower than neighboring Maine and Vermont, which are in the $300 to $349 range. No data was available for Massachusetts.

Of course, since most people already have coverage through their workplace or government programs, only a small percentage of New Hampshire residents are likely to enroll.
