Craigslist Sting Leads to Milford Man's Arrest

The U.S. Attorney's office says the man tried to coordinate sex with a minor.

A Milford man was charged with trying to have sex with a minor in Watertown, Mass., as federal authorities say he tried to set up a rendezvous with a 14-year-old girl.

The U.S. Attorney's Office charged Karl W. Leeman, 46, of Milford. Authorities contacted Leeman through Craigslist and asked him to be part of a "taboo relationship" with the girl, according to Watertown Patch.

"Leeman proceeded to engage in more than 650 email communications with the purported mother, detailing the sexual activities in which he would engage with the minor 'daughter,'" U.S. Attorney Carmen Ortiz said a statement. "On Feb. 27, Leeman traveled from his place of work in Acton, Mass. to Watertown for the purpose of having sex with a minor."
