Gate City Chronicles Guest - Matt Newton Director of NH Film & Television Office

In my opinion the legislature would serve NH well by creating Tax incentives for film and television producers to come to NH.

In this Interview with Matt Newton Director of NH Film & Television, I discovered a department in our government that has great potential for bringing revenue to NH.
NH has a Beautiful coast , lakes Region , Mountains, Forrest , and Small towns, all themes which independent and major movie makers can take advantage of.
Matt describes NH as "Virgin territory" for many film makers who are lured to other States which offer tax credits. NH would do well with all that it has to offer the film industry by competing for this lucrative industry and inviting them to make NH their new home.
As it is now independent film makers such Dan young of Bank Hold Up Films enjoy making films right here is his own back yard. His Most recent short film "Conquest of the Carnivorous Cantelope"  a Short Comedy horror flick that was entered in a film festival competition for local artist. He was allowed only forty eight hours to make the film.

I ask Matt about his back ground and functions of his department and how can film makers take advantage of NH.

For those who are looking to film or do a television production here in NH Matt Newton is the person to contact. He handles most of the logistics with the towns and cities and is easy to find. In my opinion the legislature would serve NH well by creating Tax incentives for film and television producers to come to NH.
