5 Fun Things to Do in NH This Weekend

Each week, we'll scour local event calendars in an attempt to bring you five fun things to do in New Hampshire:

1. Portsmouth Fire and Ice Festival: A winter festival celebrating Valentine's Day and President's Day Weekend and winter in Portsmouth will be held from Thursday through Sunday. There will be family fun, specials in stores and restaurants, performing arts and evening entertainment, plus ice bars, ice sculptures, fire pits, hearth cooking, dog sled rides and much more.

2. Valentine's Sleigh Ride Weekend: Looking for something romantic to do for Valentine's Day? Both Charmingfare Farm in Candia and Painted Blessings Ranch in Webster are offering Valentine sleigh rides all weekend.

3. Valentine's Dances: If a sleigh ride isn't for you, how about a dance? Valentine's Dances will be held on Saturday in both Nashua (big band) and Newmarket (ballroom).

4. Musquash Day in Londonderry: Musquash Field Day in Londonderry is scheduled for Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Snowshoe, hike, learn about local wildlife and enjoy refreshments around an open fire.

5. Winter in Laconia: In Laconia this weekend, there will be a Winter Festival on Saturday and a Sled Dog Derby all weekend. So if you don't mind a bit of a drive, you can get a real blast of New Hampshire winter. And thanks to Thursday's storm, there should be plenty of powder on the ground.
