NH Shoppers Are Going to Miss Stop & Shop

Grocery store shoppers were sad to hear that Stop & Shop in Milford will soon close.

Stop & Shop patrons were shocked to hear the news that the grocery store will be closing in September.

The grocery chain announced Tuesday that it is closing all six of its New Hampshire stores, including the location in Milford. They will close on or before Sept. 21, 2013.

Patch went into the Milford location to talk to customers about how they feel about the store closing. Many thought that the Milford Shaw’s across the street would be the one to go, since they recently announced the closure of six stores in New Hampshire.

“I’m very shocked,” she said. “I shop here mostly because of the deli department, and they carry Boars Head. They have great coupons too.”

Lori Rederstorf of Milford does all of her grocery shopping at the Milford Stop & Shop because it is close to her home.

“I just like the store,” she said. “It is clean and it has everything you need. It is a little more expensive than the others, but I still like it. I’m really surprised. I really enjoy the service they provide.
